Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake – Nang River Kayaking & Puong Cave (L/D)
07:30 Pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi and depart for Ba Be National Park (approx. 5 hours, traffic dependent). Enjoy lunch on the way.
Arrive at Boc Lom Pier and get a full safety briefing: paddling basics, dry bags, life jackets, and kayaking techniques. Start your water adventure down the Nang River, combining boat cruising and kayaking to reach the spectacular Puong Cave—a massive tunnel-like river cave carved through limestone.
Continue the route with more river scenery, cross sections of the Nang River, and navigate rugged terrain with impressive limestone formations. Return to Ba Be Lake by motorboat. If conditions allow, enjoy a refreshing swim.
Check in at your accommodation (homestay/Jungle House style) and enjoy a BBQ-style dinner in the peaceful national park setting.
Overnight: Ba Be (homestay / Jungle House style)
Day 2: Tham Phay Cave Expedition – Underground River Cave Adventure (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up at your homestay for a short transfer to the trekking starting point.
The hike begins with a steep climb into the forest, then continues across rocky terrain and into a valley where the cave entrance hides at the end of a remote forest corridor. Your guide and safety team support route finding and preparation. Snack break before entering the cave.
Tham Phay Cave is a stunning stream cave with underground river tributaries—narrow passages, rugged limestone, and deep pools that create exceptional photo opportunities. You’ll explore with provided safety gear (helmets, headlamps, and essential equipment). The experience is immersive and adventurous: water, stone, silence, and the echo of an unseen river.
After completing the cave route, return to the pick-up point and transfer back to Ba Be for dinner and rest.
Overnight: Ba Be (homestay / Jungle House style)
Day 3: Ba Be Lake – Relaxed Morning – Return to Hanoi (B/L)
Wake up to Ba Be’s quiet morning—mist above the lake, village sounds in the distance, and the slow rhythm that city life forgets.
Enjoy a relaxed morning to unwind: short walk around the village, lakeside time, or simply resting in nature. After lunch at the homestay, depart for Hanoi and arrive in the late afternoon/early evening (depending on traffic).
End of tour in Hanoi.
