Overview
This is not a “viewpoint tour.” This is a real summit journey—through tropical forest, bamboo sections, slippery jungle paths, and mountain ridgelines—sleeping under the cold night sky at around 2,200m, before pushing for the legendary milestone of 3,143m.
If you want North Vietnam’s most iconic off-the-beaten-track challenge, Fansipan 2D1N is the one that stays with you—because you earn every meter.
Travel style: Adventure trekking + camping
Difficulty: Medium / Hard (route options below)
Best for: Active travelers, hikers, “I want the real thing” explorers
Note: Night temperatures can be cold; hygiene/bathing conditions are limited at camp.
Tour Highlights
- Summit Mount Fansipan (3,143m) – the “Roof of Indochina”
- Trek through primitive jungle, bamboo forests, and stream crossings
- Overnight camping at ~2,200m with tent + sleeping bag
- Choose your challenge: Medium route (via Tram Ton Pass) or Hard route (from Sapa via villages)
- Optional scenic return: Fansipan cable car (after summit / descent section, depending on plan)
- A true, raw nature experience—no crowds, no shortcuts (unless you choose the cable car option)
Why this 2D1N trek works
1) It’s the authentic summit story. Camping on the mountain changes everything—this becomes a journey, not a visit.
2) The route has cinematic variety. Jungle density → bamboo corridors → high ridgelines → summit views.
3) Two difficulty options. You can match the trek to your fitness and comfort level.
4) Flexible finish. After the summit, you can descend on foot—or choose a cable car option to save knees and time.
How to Get to Sapa (Before the Trek)
Your trek starts in Sapa. From Hanoi, we recommend:
- Overnight bus: easier logistics, often drops you directly in Sapa town
- Overnight train to Lao Cai: a classic experience, then transfer by shuttle/bus to Sapa
(If you want, we can bundle transport Hanoi ↔ Sapa into the booking depending on your travel plan.)

Day 2: Fansipan Summit – Return to Sapa (B/L)
An early start—because the summit is best when the world is still quiet.
- Early breakfast at camp.
- Trek through pine areas and yellow bamboo sections, continuing upward.
- After an arduous ~4-hour climb, reach the Fansipan summit (3,143m).
- Enjoy up to one hour at the top—mountain waves rolling into the distance, tiny villages below, and that “I really did it” feeling.
- Lunch, then begin descending toward Sin Chai (Black Hmong village) and transfer back to Sapa.
Optional: Return by Cable Car
After your summit/descent section, you may choose to return to Sapa by cable car (subject to timing/operating conditions). It’s a stunning aerial view of the Fansipan range and terraced landscapes—also kinder on tired legs.
After returning to Sapa, you can:
- Travel back to Hanoi the same way, or
